A Garden is a kind of Building card found in Tanto Cuore: Expanding the House

If your Private Quarters contains 4 or more Garden cards, then you cannot be the target of any further Bad Habits or Illnesses. Gardens are also required if a player wishes to purchase Lily Gardens (unless Ririko Hiiragi is available).

Like other Buildings, Gardens can be destroyed by the ability of the General Maid Victoria Calderan.

Strategy[]

If your game includes buildings, then your early game should be focused on increasing your Love-per-turn and buying Gardens as soon as possible. There are two reasons for this: Most obviously, Gardens are required to purchase Lily Gardens, a major source of VP (though Ririko Hiiragi can substitute for a Garden in a pinch).

But the other benefit Gardens give you is that owning four or more of them prevents you from being the target of further Illnesses or Bad Habits. If your game includes these cards it is vital that you secure this advantage, or at least prevent any other player from doing so. Otherwise, expect to have event cards piled on top of you by the end of the game.

If you're playing a two player game with Gardens, you may want to use the optional "two-player rule", where three cards are removed from each deck in the town (Private Maids excepted) at the start of the game. This means that there are now only five Gardens total to fight over, and it will be less likely that either player will gain Event-immunity.
